background
On May 20, 2016, the Vanquish Zagato Concept was presented to the public at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este on Lake Como . It continues the 50-year collaboration between Aston Martin and the Italian design studio Zagato, which began in 1960 with the DB4 GT Zagato .
On June 21, 2016, Aston Martin announced that it would produce the Vanquish Zagato in a small series of 99 copies. The first vehicles were delivered in early 2017.
At the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance 2016, a roadster variant made its debut with the Vanquish Zagato Volante . As with the coupé, 99 vehicles were produced in a small series and delivered from the beginning of 2017.
Aston Martin also presented the Vanquish Zagato Speedster a year later in Pebble Beach . This variant is based on the Roadster, but is characterized by a flatter and lower windscreen. The Speedster also has two air domes behind the seats. With 28 units, the Speedster is the rarest variant.
In August 2017, the manufacturer announced the last variant of the Zagato series. This is a shooting brake limited to 99 copies .
Vehicle characteristics
The Vanquish Zagato is based on the Vanquish, which has been built since 2012 . The body is still made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic , but has been redesigned. For example, the radiator grille was enlarged, a retractable rear spoiler installed and, in the case of the Coupé, two elevations (called "Double Bubbles" by Zagato) were embedded in the roof. In addition, design elements from the One-77 and DB11 models were used . In the interior there is a leather upholstery with “Z” quilting and “Z” logos on various interior parts. The Coupé accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 3.5 seconds, the Roadster needs 0.2 seconds more.
