history

First published in April 2015

Elsengold Verlag was founded at the beginning of 2013 by the historian Dirk Palm , who with his company Palmedia Publishing Services had already “designed around 100 illustrated non-fiction books for other publishers”. In September 2013 he published his first book, a large-format double volume under the title Leben in Ost-Berlin . The publisher is consistently continuing this principle of richly illustrated books and has made this its core brand. With Hans-Ulrich Thamer , Jan Gympel and Matthias Wemhoff, the publisher was able to include three renowned authors in its publishing program. In 2016, the publisher published a book for the first time in cooperation with the Berlin Museum of Prehistory and Early History , in whose building the book was also presented. In April 2016, Elsengold, in cooperation with the Association for the History of Berlin, launched the issue of Berlin History , which has been published quarterly since then. Numerous renowned historians, including Claudia Melisch , Rüdiger vom Bruch and Helmut Börsch-Supan, have also been won over for this.

The publisher has been taking part in the Frankfurt and Leipzig Book Fairs regularly since 2014 .

In 2015 the publisher founded Imprint Palm Verlag to market its non-fiction books on history and culture that are not specific to Berlin. Well-known authors have also been won here, including Holger Sonnabend .
