The Aston Martin One-77 is a supercar produced in small series from the British car manufacturer Aston Martin . The automobile should show the capabilities of the vehicle manufacturer.

Vehicle characteristics

The name of the sports car already indicates the limited edition of 77 copies. The vehicle was hand built at the Aston Martin factory in Gaydon, Warwickshire , England . Marek Reichman was the head of design, Chris Porritt was the project manager.

The carbon fiber reinforced plastic (KFK) chassis and the hand-molded aluminum body were derived from Aston Martin's VH platform . The design was based on the other models of the manufacturer, the exhibited rear fenders, the ventilation grilles in the bonnet, the window line rising towards the B-pillar and the two-part air inlets in the fenders and doors are striking. The engine is installed at the front behind the front axle, a 7.3-liter V12 petrol engine with around 559 kW (760 hp), the most powerful naturally aspirated passenger car used in series up to that point, which drove the car over 100 km in 3.5 seconds / h and accelerated up to 355 km / h. A tube made of magnesium alloy, in which the KFK drive shaft is mounted, connects the motor with the rear gearbox, which is combined with the final drive and differential in one housing (transaxle). This design results in a balanced weight distribution of 49% on the front axle and 51% on the rear axle. All wheels are individually suspended on double wishbones, the bearings of which are arranged in such a way that they counteract immersion during acceleration and braking (anti-dive, anti-squat, anti-lift), the internal springs and dampers are actuated via push rods and rocker arms ( "Push rod"), anti-roll bars are installed on both axles. The single-tube shock absorbers are electrically adjustable and the rack and pinion steering is hydraulically supported. All brakes work with ceramic discs made of carbon fiber reinforced silicon carbide, the front brake calipers have six pistons and the rear four pistons.

The Canadian company Multimatic supplied the KFK monocoque and the wheel suspensions for the Aston Martin One-77. The CPP company from Coventry provided the body panels and Cosworth from Northampton was responsible for the 7.3 liter V12 engine. A car required 2,700 working hours, while Aston Martin spent 200 working hours for a production sports car.

The Aston Martin One-77 sold for a new car price of £ 1.25 million plus local taxes. The price in Germany, including sales tax, was around 1.8 million euros (2012 conversion rate).
