The Aston Martin DB11 is a sports car produced by the British car manufacturer Aston Martin . It replaces the DB9 built from 2004 to 2016 and continues the type designation DB (the initials of David Brown ). In 2017, the DB11 won the Golden Steering Wheel in the Most Beautiful Car category .

Vehicle characteristics

For the first time, the DB11 builds on a new platform , replacing the old VH platform that debuted with the V12 Vanquish . Instead of the 5.9-liter V12, which was still under the direction of Ford , the DB11 uses a 5.2-liter V12 twin -turbo engine developed by Aston Martin for the first time . The Roadster variant Volante presented Aston Martin in October 2017. Sold it will since March 2018 initially with the eight-cylinder gasoline engine.

In mid-May 2018, Aston Martin presented the DB11 as an AMR variant as part of the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring . This is built in collaboration with Aston Martin Racing and has an output of 470 kW (639 hp).

In February 2020, Aston Martin announced the Shadow Edition limited to 300 pieces .

Registration numbers

In the first year of sales in 2016, nine Aston Martin DB11s were newly registered in the Federal Republic of Germany. In the sales year 2017 there were 182, 2018 175 and 2019 181 vehicles. The Federal Motor Transport Authority counts the DBS Superleggera in this series.
