Irena Cristalis
Irena Cristalis (* 1959) is a Dutch journalist and photographer.
She has been working in Asia since the mid-1980s. From the mid-1990s she reported for international media such as the BBC , The Economist and Radio Netherlands from East Timor, which was occupied by Indonesia and has been independent since 2002 . In 2007, she lived in India New Delhi .
On August 30, 2019, Francisco Guterres , the president of the now independent East Timor, awarded Irena Cristalis with the medal of the Ordem de Timor-Leste .
