Zenon Ważny

Zenon Romuald Ważny (born December 6, 1929 in Vilnius - † October 23, 2017 ) was a Polish pole vaulter .

In 1951 he won bronze at the World Festival of Youth and Students . At the Olympic Games in Helsinki in 1952 , he was eliminated from qualification.

In 1954 he was eleventh at the European Athletics Championships in Bern and in 1955 he won silver at the World Festival of Youth and Students.

After a sixth place at the Olympic Games in Melbourne in 1956 , he won the World University Games in 1957 and was fifth at the 1958 European Championship in Stockholm.

He was Polish champion four times (1951, 1952, 1956, 1958). He set his personal best of 4.53 m on August 2, 1958 in Warsaw .
