The Central African Linsang ( Poiana richardsonii ) is one of two types of Pojanas within the crawling cats . It is common in sub- Saharan Africa from Cameroon to the Democratic Republic of the Congo .

features

The Central African Linsang is a comparatively small and slender crawling cat with an average head-trunk length of 33 to 38 centimeters and a tail of 35 to 40 centimeters in length. The body weight is 500 to 700 grams. The body color consists of a pale yellow to brown-gray or orange-brown basic color, which is covered with dark brown, round or oval spots in irregular rows. The rows of spots can change into stripes on the back and shoulders. Individual individuals also have a dark stripe that extends from the snout over the back to the base of the tail. The belly side is white to cream-colored, the tail is curled in different widths light and dark.

The Central African Linsang is common in parts of sub-Saharan Africa. The distribution area includes the south of Cameroon and the Central African Republic , Equatorial Guinea , Gabon , the Republic of the Congo and the Democratic Republic of the Congo . It is also found on the island of Bioko in the Gulf of Guinea .
