Central American common market
On December 13, 1960 , representatives of four Central American countries signed the agreement to found the Mercado Común Centroamericano ( MCCA = Common Central American Market) in Managua . The ODECA member states Guatemala , El Salvador , Honduras and Nicaragua were founding members . The fifth ODECA member state, Costa Rica , was added in 1963. After the football war of 1969 between El Salvador and Honduras, the agreement lost its practical importance. Only after the creation of the Central American Integration System in 1991 was it reactivated in 1993 with the Guatemala Protocol .
