The Central Council of Armenians in Germany (ZAD) is the umbrella organization for all Armenian associations, communities and groups in Germany . It was founded on January 24, 1993 in Bonn .
history
The ZAD emerged from the Association of Armenian Associations in the German-Speaking Area eV , whose statutes, rules of procedure and speech order were changed by a majority resolution of a general assembly on January 23 and 24, 1993 in Bonn.

The ZAD is based in Frankfurt am Main , is non-partisan and religiously neutral.

Goals and Activities
The ZAD wants to represent the interests of the Armenians living in Germany and improve the understanding between the citizens of the Federal Republic of Germany and the Republic of Armenia .
The ZAD was also founded to arouse international interest in coming to terms with the genocide of the Armenians and interest in the social and cultural development of the Armenians. On the basis of the history of the Armenians in the 20th century, the ZAD would like to counteract racial discrimination and persecution .
To implement these goals, the association counts among its tasks the "promotion and coordination of the cultural and charitable activities of the members, member communities and associations", the "general youth promotion and care in the sense of identity promotion and integration of the youth within the framework of the child and youth welfare law of 1990 ", the" support of efforts that serve the cooperation with German organizations and the cultural exchange and the promotion of the coexistence between Germans and Armenians ", the" cooperation with the Armenian organizations in Armenia, in the European Union and in the other countries ", as well as the" expansion and [the] promotion of communication and cooperation among the Armenians and all their organizations in Germany ".
financing
The ZAD is non-profit . Its organs work on a voluntary basis. It is financed through donations, the contributions of the members, as well as through foundations and grants from the public sector.
