Zeppelin III in Berlin on August 29th, 1909 is a short, German silent documentary film from 1909.

action

Shown are the recordings of a Zeppelin round flight made by the two camera veterans Georg Furkel and Guido Seeber . Stops are a stopover in Bitterfeld , the flight over the Tempelhof airfield and the landing on the Tegel shooting range, which was carried out with the highest precision. You can see Berlin street scenes and the crowds of people waving to the airship gliding over them . A particularly artistic shot was taken with the view through the Berlin town hall tower towards which the zeppelin can be seen flying towards. During the landing recorded from the ground, the crew on board who is throwing the landing rope towards the ground can be easily recognized. Finally, on the ground, the landing men grab the rope and pull it to its anchorage.

criticism

“One of the most successful of the many airship photos that have been taken recently is the most recent one of the arrival of the Zeppelin III. in Berlin. The ... film shows the long air travel of the Zeppelin with rare clarity [...] This highly topical film is certainly one of the greatest attractions that the cinematograph has to offer. "
