Clover cliff

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Zeterkleeklippe or Zeterkleef is one of the numerous Harz cliffs in the area of the city of Wernigerode . It is located in the Wernigerode forest on the Knechtskopf (formerly also Knechtsberg and at times differentiated into first and second Knechtskopf) above the source of a small, nameless stream not far from the Nesseltal valley . There are also the names Zeeterkleeklippe (1824) and Zetterkleeklippe (1825). In contrast to other cliffs, the Zeterkleeklippe hardly offers a view due to the surrounding dense vegetation with trees. The name of this cliff is rarely used today because knowledge of the name has largely been forgotten.

The border between the county of Wernigerode and the Prussian office of Hasserode with the magistrate's wood led past the Zeterkleeklippe and it therefore appears in several historical border descriptions. The old Harzstrasse, coming from Wernigerode, leads directly up to it over the Salzberg into the Harz.

Widely known as the Zeterkleeklippe are Zeterklippen in the Harz .
