Schaina Qurmanbekqysy Schekerbekowa ( Kazakh Жайна Құрманбекқызы Шекербекова , Russian Жайна Курманбековна Шекербекова Schaina Kurmanbekowna Schekerbekowa , English Zhaina Shekerbekova * 17th December 1989 ) is an internationally successful Kazakh boxer .
Career
In the Asian indoor games, a short-lived multi-sport event, Schekerbekowa played her first international championships. She was eliminated here in the flyweight (up to 51 kg) but already in the first fight against Annie Albania, Philippines (15: 5). The following year, Schekerbekowa won the bantamweight (up to 54 kg) gold medal with victories over Santhika, Sri Lanka (13: 2), Priyanka Chaudhary, India (11: 4), and Kim Hye Song, North Korea (+2: 2) the Asian Championships in Astana . At the Asian Games 2010 she was eliminated, now starting again in the flyweight division, but again in the first fight against Annie Albia.
She was also eliminated in the first fight at the 2012 Asian Championships and the 2012 Women's Boxing World Championships .
At the 2014 Asian Games in Incheon , Schekerbekowa reached the final after victories over Tomoko Kugimiya, Japan (3: 0), Ri Hyang-Mi, North Korea (3: 0), and Nandintsetse Myagmardulam, Mongolia (3: 0), the final, which they beat the Indian Chungneijang Marykom lost 2-0 judges' votes and thus won the silver medal. The following year Schekerbekowa was eliminated at the Asian Championships in Wulanchabu in the quarterfinals against Ren Cancan , China (2-1).
At the 2016 women's boxing world championships in Astana, Schekerbekowa fought her way through to the semi-finals, which won over Clara Lescurat, Argentina (3: 0), Ri Hyang-Mi (3: 0) and Azize Nimani , Germany (3: 0) she lost to Nicola Adams , Great Britain (3-0) and won a bronze medal. Schekerbekowa qualified for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro .
