Zhang Lin (dissident)
Zhang Lin ( Chinese 张林 , Pinyin Zhāng Lín ; born June 2, 1963 in Bengbu , Anhui , People's Republic of China ) is a Chinese dissident .
His sentencing to prison in October 2005 caused a sensation. He was accused of trying to overthrow the socialist system by publishing texts on the Internet. He was released from custody in August 2009.
Zhang Lin had previously been sentenced to several years in prison and, according to Reporters Without Borders , had a total of almost 13 years in prison.
