Zhang Shuai (born July 20, 1981 in Qingdao ) is a former Chinese soccer player . The defender was a Chinese national player .

He played his entire career with Beijing Guoan . Beijing won the Chinese Cup in 2003 and the Supercup in 2004. However, he tested positive for ephedrine in December 2003 and banned him for six months, making him the first official doping case in China's football. In 2007 he was Chinese runner-up with Beijing and reached the AFC Champions League in 2008 , where they came in second in the group stage. In November 2008, he ended his career.

Zhang Shuai was called up to the Chinese national team 13 times in 2007/08. With China he took part in the 2007 Asian Cup.
