Zhang Yang (director)
Zhang Yang ( Chinese 張 楊 / 张 杨 , Pinyin Zhāng Yáng ; * 1967) is a Chinese director . He stands for a realistic style that could be compared to Andreas Dresen . He became better known in 1998 with the independent production Aiqing Malatang , which was very successful both at the Chinese box office and at international film festivals.
Zhang Yang's father is the director Zhang Huaxun.
Zhang Yang grew up in Beijing, attended Sun Yat-sen University in Guangzhou until 1988 , from which he graduated with a bachelor's degree in Chinese literature, and then moved to the Central University of Theater (中央 戏剧 学院), where he graduated in 1992 Graduated.
