Zhao Qinggang ( Chinese  趙 慶 剛  /  赵 庆 刚 , Pinyin Zhào Qìnggāng; * July 24, 1985 ) is a Chinese javelin thrower .

Athletic career

Zhao Qinggang gained his first international experience in 2009 at the East Asian Games in Hong Kong , where he won the silver medal behind his compatriot Qin Qiang with a width of 79.62 m . In 2013 he took part in the World Championships in Moscow for the first time, but retired there with 77.61 m in qualification and then won the East Asian Games in Tianjin with a width of 82.97 m. At the 2014 Asian Games in Incheon , South Korea , he triumphed with a new Asian record of 89.15 m. The following year he again took part in the World Championships in Beijing , but did not reach the final again with 79.47 m .

In 2019 he again took part in the World Championships in Doha , but retired without a valid attempt in qualification .

In 2012 and 2014, Zhao became the Chinese javelin master.
