Zhongyang

Zhongyang ( Chinese  中 阳县 , Pinyin Zhōngyáng Xiàn ) is a Chinese district in the prefecture-level city of Lüliang in Shanxi Province . Zhongyang is about 17 km south-southeast of Lishi , the city center of Lüliang, and about 140 km west-southwest of Taiyuan , the provincial capital of Shanxi.

The district has an area of ​​1,441 km² and approx. 140,000 inhabitants (end of 2006) with a growing trend, which was caused by the favorable development of the basic industries and their expansion. The center and seat of the county government is the large community of Ningxing, which is located in a valley along a small river. The slightly mountainous environment is one of the coal mining areas of Shanxi Province. The large community is dominated by the mine and the steel mill (Pinyin: Zhonggang, 中 钢).

Zhongyang can be easily reached from Lishi via the highway and secondary roads.

Administrative structure

At the community level, Zhongyang consists of five large communities and two communities. These are:

  • Greater community Ningxing (宁兴镇), center, seat of the county government;
  • Greater community Jinluo (金罗镇);
  • Greater community Zhike (枝柯镇);
  • Greater community Wujiazhuang (武家庄镇);
  • Greater community Nuanquan (暖泉镇);
  • Community Xiazaolin (下枣林乡);
  • Community Chemingyu (车鸣峪乡).
