Zhukaigou

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Zhukaigou site ( Chinese  朱 開溝 遗址  /  朱 开沟 遗址 , Pinyin Zhūkāigōu yízhǐ ) is an archaeological site of an early Bronze Age culture on the loess plateau of the eastern Ordos Plateau in the Ejinhoro banner in Inner Mongolia , People's Republic of China .

It is now assumed that it belongs to its own culture, the Zhukaigou culture (Zhukaigou wenhua 朱 开沟 文化 / 朱 開溝 文化), the three phases of which this site dates back to around 1900-1300 BC. To be dated.

The site was excavated from 1977 to 1984 by the Inner Mongolia Institute of Cultural Objects and Archeology . 83 houses, 329 graves and a large amount of pottery, stone and bronze artefacts were uncovered.

The Zhukaigou site in the Ejinhoro banner has been on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China since 2006 (6-31)
