Facade of the Ziererhaus

The Ziererhaus is a former citizens' palace in the historic old town of Freising ( Upper Bavaria ). The three-storey building was built around 1730 as a house for the master mason Johann Lorenz Hirschstötter . It is considered to be one of the most important Rococo buildings in old Bavaria .

The house was built on the Rindermarkt next to the parish church of St. Georg . The facade is strictly structured by seven window axes. Three of these axes are slightly emphasized by a central projection. A mighty gable breaks through the hip roof above the risalit .

The entire facade of the Ziererhaus is richly decorated with elaborate stucco elements by the Freising plasterer Thomas Glasl . The individual window axes are decorated with garlands. Medallions, coats of arms and trophies worked into it.

The building was gutted around 1980. Today the registry office of the city of Freising is located there.
