Zigmas Pranas Starkus

Zigmas Pranas Starkus (born October 12, 1892 in Rudamina , Lazdijai Rajongemeinde , † around 1942 in Russia ) was a Lithuanian politician, Minister of the Interior of Lithuania .

Life

After the Rudamina School near Lazdijai , he graduated from the Marijampolė High School in 1912 and in 1917 studied at the Faculty of Science at Moscow University . As a student he was a member of Ateitininkai . From 1918 to 1920 he was deputy minister at the Ministry of the Interior , from 1920 to 1922 a representative in the Steigiamasis Seimas , from 1922 to 1927 a member of the Seimas , from 1924 to 1925 Minister of the Interior in the cabinet of Antanas Tumėnas . In 1936 he was director of the board of Lietuvos bankas . In 1941 he was arrested and deported to Siberia , where he died or was shot in Sverdlovsk in 1942 .
