Zigmas Vaišvila

Zigmas Vaišvila (born December 20, 1956 in Šiauliai ) is a Lithuanian politician.

Life

After graduating from high school with distinction in 1974 at Didždvaris grammar school , he graduated with distinction in physics from Vilniaus universitetas in 1979 and received his doctorate in 1984. From 1981 he worked in the department of nuclear physics at the physics institute of Lietuvos mokslų akademija as a research assistant. From 1988 he was a member of Sąjūdis . From 1990 to 1992 he was a member of the Seimas , from 1991 to 1992 Deputy Prime Minister. From 1991 to 1992 he was General Director of Valstybės saugumo departamentas (State Security Department ).
