Zignau (Eng. Ringgenberg or Rinkenberg ) is a village in the political municipality of Trun (formerly Disentis district and Surselva district , since January 1, 2016 Surselva region ) in the Swiss canton of Graubünden .

In Zignau there was Ringgenberg Castle , which together with Friberg Castle formed the eastern border barrier of the territory of the Abbot of Disentis . To what extent the ministerial family von Ringgenberg was related to the family of the same name on Lake Brienz is open, but they had the same coat of arms. In a document, Rudolf de Rinkenberg was mentioned in 1283 as a witness, in 1326 Antonius and Johannes as guarantors and in 1424 Christoph as sealant.

Several debris flows from Val Zavragia descended in the direction of Zignau, in particular in 1748, 1817, 1834, 1868, around 1883 and 1927. In 1927 a double house under the church disappeared during a flood with debris flow and only the choir walls and the church remained Tower left.
