The Tsiolkovsky Island ( Russian Остров Циолковский Ostrow Tsiolkovsky ) is the larger of two icy islands in the Fimbul Ice Shelf off the Princess Martha coast of the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . It is located immediately southwest of the smaller island of Kroshka Island .
Soviet scientists did the first mapping and naming in 1961. It is named after the Russian space pioneer Konstantin Eduardowitsch Ziolkowski (1857–1935).
