The Zirmsee is a reservoir with a storage target of 2529.5 m above sea level. A. , which is located within the Goldberg group in the municipality of Heiligenblut am Großglockner . It has a storage volume of 8.65 hm³ and is located in the catchment area of the Kleinfleißbach .
The originally natural Karsee ( 2499 m ) was enlarged between 1981 and 1983 by the construction of a rock embankment with a surface seal made of asphalt concrete and a 315 m long crown. In the Kelag Fragant power plant group, it serves as the annual storage facility for the Zirknitz (32 MW), Innerfragant (Wurten stage, 66 MW) and Extraquagant (96 MW) storage power plants .
