from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Cistercian Abbey of Biaches was from 1235 to 1764 a monastery of the Cistercian women in Biaches , Somme department , diocese of Amiens in France.

history

A canon and a wealthy citizen of Péronne (in the then diocese of Noyon ) founded the nunnery of Biachia (French: Biache ) west of their city in 1235 , which was settled by Cistercian women from the monastery of La Brayelle and also named Notre-Dame de La Brelle de Biaches- lez-Péronne wore. The official incorporation into the Cistercian order dates from 1236. The monastery, from which today's place Biaches developed, existed until 1764. Then the convent was incorporated into the Cistercian Abbey of Fervaques and all buildings were torn down. The field name Au couvent can still be found in the east of Biaches .
