The Cistercian Abbey of Bonnecombe (not to be confused with Bonnecombe Monastery ) was a French monastery of the Cistercian women from the 12th century to 1791 in Saint-Paul-d'Izeaux , Canton Bièvre , from 1667 in Beaurepaire , Département Isère , both today in the Diocese of Grenoble-Vienne .

history

The Bonnecombe Abbey (Latin: Bona Cumba "Good Valley") was one of the first Cistercian nunneries after the Tart Abbey . It was founded (under the jurisdiction of Kloster Bonnevaux ) in Saint-Paul-d'Izeaux, west of Tullin . The monastery was moved to Beaurepaire in 1667, where structural remains are incorporated into the town hall. When the monastery of Tamié took the initiative to found the Cistercian Abbey Le Betton in 1133 , nuns of Bonnecombe helped with the settlement.
