Cabanes

The monastery was founded in 1158 at Sant Feliu de Cadins ("Saint Felix", in today's Cabanes), settled with nuns from the Valldemaria monastery and in 1169 raised to the status of an abbey. The still imposing building of the former monastery church from the 13th century is used for agriculture today.

Girona

In 1492 the nuns moved to the city of Girona (parish of Santa Susana del Mercadal ) for their greater security , where they could stay until 1936. They initially used the found (and still existing) church of St. Susanna and built the (now destroyed) church of Santa Maria de Cadins in the 18th century . Expelled from the (then destroyed) monastery by the republic, they lived in the city under difficult conditions until 1944.

Sant Medir

The longing for monastic silence prompted the nuns to leave Salt in 1980 and move to the monastery town of Sant Medir, where they could initially use existing buildings and then build a new monastery. This was given up in 2000 due to a lack of offspring. The remaining nuns went to the Valldonzella monastery . The last abbess was Dolors Barcons from 1966 to 2000 (* 1925 in Joanetes ( La Vall d'en Bas ), entered 1948, solemn profession in 1953, † December 27, 2008 in Valdonzella).
