history

The nunnery Beatae Mariae Virginis et Santissimae Trinitatis ("The Virgin Mary and the Most Holy Trinity") was founded in 1540 by a wealthy family for their daughters. In the venerable mystic Veronica Laparelli (1537-1620), the monastery had a saintly member from an early age. She is laid out in the monastery. The monastery was closed from 1810 to 1815 and from 1886 to 1888. From 2004 the Trappist Abbey of Valserena sent sisters to the Cistercian monastery of the Most Holy Trinity for a joint attempt to bring the way of life of Trappists closer together and to enrich the Cistercian charisma by renouncing both sides.
