The Cistercian Abbey El Patrocinio was 1718-1836 a monastery of Cistercian nuns in de Tamarite Litera , province of Huesca in Aragon .

history

The 1695 started and 1703 finished Marian shrine Mare de Deu del Patrocini ( "Our Lady of the patronage") was in 1716 to the Monastery Foundation Nuestra Señora del Patrocinio enriched, 1718 the convent of the Cistercian Abbey of Sant Hilari de Lleida could record their building in War of Spanish Succession by King Philip V had been destroyed. Abbess Clara Gómez de Alha y Zaydín (1716–1774), who died in the year of her election, was considered holy. In 1836 the monastery was dissolved and destroyed by the liberal government. The Marian shrine was preserved on Calle Patrocinio and was restored in 1978.
