Cistercian monastery of Nazaré

The Cistercian Monastery of Nazaré has been a Brazilian monastery in Rio Pardo , Rio Grande do Sul , diocese of Santa Cruz do Sul since 1998 .

history

In 1998, Cistercians from the Italian Casamari monastery founded the Mosteiro Nossa Senhora de Nazaré (“Our Lady of Nazareth”) monastery 135 kilometers west of Porto Alegre . The monastery is run by the order as Praefundatio ("pre- foundation "). The prior is Roberto Maria Borges Teixeira.
