Civil Cross of Honor (Reuss)

The civil honor cross in the Principality of Reuss-Younger Line is to be distinguished from the honor cross. The latter was intended for residents and foreigners, while the "civil" was only for citizens of the country.

The civil honor cross was donated by Prince Heinrich XIV on May 24, 1869 in four classes and one medal of merit.

Order decoration

The decoration is an eight-pointed white enameled gold rimmed St. John's Cross with short golden rays in the corners. The black enameled medallion framed by a golden ring shows on the front the golden initial H (Heinrich) of the founder, surmounted by a crown . On the reverse the coat of arms of the principality.

The first class wears a golden princely crown over the cross . The III. Class is made of silver and the fourth class has no rays in the angles.

Ribbon and way of wearing

The ribbon is amaranth red.

The first cash register was worn as a neck medal , all other classes on the left breast or in the buttonhole.
