The Zodiac Premium galleys , a subsidiary of the French Zodiac Aerospace Group is a supplier of aircraft galleys ( Galley ) and aircraft appliances ( Galley Inserts ). The company is based in Herborn and has a production facility in Burg as well as its own design office in Homberg (Ohm) . A total of 1,600 people are employed.
history
precursor
The Burger Eisenwerke hired Werner Sell , who also produced aircraft kitchens with his company. When he was stopped, his company “Sell” went out. In 1958, Burger Eisenwerke was taken over by Buderus AG and part of it was run as “Buderus Sell GmbH”, with the name of the engineer being revived. In 1990 a new workshop was put into operation in Ludwigshütte. 1997 Buderus Sell GmbH was taken over by the British company Britax International . By relocating the production site from Rumbold, also a Britax subsidiary, to Herborn, the product range could be expanded to include aircraft kitchen appliances.
Foundation of Sell GmbH
In 2003, in honor of the engineer Werner Sell, the company was renamed from Britax to "Sell GmbH". In 2010, Britax sold the company to the French Zodiac Group . With 25,200 employees, Zodiac Aerospace is the world's leading company in the aircraft supply industry. Sell, along with other subsidiaries, is one of 117 locations worldwide. The company has now been renamed Zodiac Premium Galleys.

The Zodiac Premium Galleys produce aircraft kitchens and aircraft interiors for the world's leading airlines and aircraft manufacturers.
In 2011 Sell had the 30,000. Conversion oven of the -8201 series delivered to Deutsche Lufthansa. In 2015, Sell was able to sell the 50,000. Airplane kitchen for a A380 of Etihad Airways celebrate another anniversary.
Zodiac Premium Galleys has a 70 percent market share in the aircraft kitchen equipment of the new Airbus A380 wide-body aircraft and is the world market leader in kitchens for long-haul aircraft. In addition to the aircraft kitchens and ovens, Zodiac Premium Galleys also build coffee machines, kettles, bread warmers and other elements of the cabin furnishings.
