The Zofinger Wochenblatt für Stadt und Land was a Swiss newspaper founded in 1811 by Daniel Sutermeister . In 1832 the newspaper was sold to Liestal by Sutermeister's heirs , and in 1833 it was taken over by Johann Rudolf Ringier .

The weekly paper was initially an advertisement sheet . From 1851 it published liberal - liberal messages. In 1864 it was printed in an edition of 700 copies. In 1885 it was taken over by the Zofinger Tagblatt , from which it then published a weekly selection of articles. The Wochenblatt merged with the Zofinger Volksblatt in 1925 .
