Paul Ehinger

Paul H. Ehinger (born August 7, 1939 in Malmö ; legal resident in Sternenberg ) is a Swiss historian and journalist .

Live and act

As a middle school student, Ehinger became a member of the Fides Rorschach student association . He graduated from the Rorschach teacher training college, worked as a teacher for three years and studied history and sociology at the University of Zurich from 1963 . During his studies he became a member of Zofingia Zurich . In 1970 he did his doctorate with Erwin Bucher with a dissertation on early liberalism in the canton of St. Gallen . He worked as an assistant at the Research Center for Swiss Politics (today the Institute for Political Science) at the University of Bern and as an adjunct at the General Secretariat of the FDP Switzerland . From 1977 he worked as a journalist, first for Werdenberger & Toggenburger , then for the Berner Zeitung , the Basler Zeitung and the Swiss Political Correspondence . From 1988 to 2003 he was editor-in-chief of the Zofinger Tagblatt . In 1984 Ehinger was the initiator and co-founder of the Swiss Association for Student History , of which he was president from 1986 to 1994. He was the editor of Studentica Helvetica .

He has writings for the right-wing civil associations Pro Libertate and Society and Church Wohin? publishes and criticizes a left and politically correct mainstream in the media.
