Zoltán Bubonyi

Zoltán Bubonyi (* 1935 ; † 2017 ) was a Hungarian table tennis player . He was runner-up in the team competition at the 1959 World Cup.

Career

Zoltán Bubonyi achieved his first international success as a youth. In 1958 and 1960 he was European youth champion in the team competition, at the EM in 1960 he also reached the semi-finals in mixed with Sárolta Máthé .

At the national Hungarian championships in 1958 he won the doubles title with László Földy . With the club Vasútépítő Törekvés SK he was from 1957 to 1960 four times in a row and again in 1962 Hungarian team champion.

At the World Cup in 1959 he reached the final with the Hungarian team, which was lost to Japan with 1: 5.
