Zora (* October 17, 1974 as Bianca Angela Litscher ; own spelling ZORA ) is a Swiss rapper and graffiti artist from Lucerne . She is a trained graphic artist and former editor of the international hip-hop magazine Make it better . In 1989 Zora came to rap music through graffiti.

graffiti

Like the German rapper Cora E. , Zora found access to hip-hop and rap through graffiti . Since childhood, she was interested in comics, colors and shapes. She began with drawings on paper and then spread her art in public spaces in her region and later throughout Europe. With the two Swiss writers Shark and Mate, she was part of the international graffiti crew Stick Up Kids for some time , which includes the two German graffiti artists DAIM and Can2. For two years she was able to live on legal graffiti assignments and graffiti workshops she led. In addition, her artwork has been featured in numerous exhibitions alongside works by HR Giger .

ZORA turned her artistic passion into a profession. From 1992 to 1993 she attended the Independent School for Design Farbmühle in Lucerne, from 1994 to 1995 the School for Design Zurich and from 1996 to 2000 did an apprenticeship in graphics at the Lucerne graphic studio Ultralounge .

As a trained graphic artist, she designed artworks, logos and covers for her hip-hop project Wrecked Mob and other artists.

2006: After working for Mutabor Design in Hamburg, she moved back to Lucerne, where she works as a graphic designer and illustrator for an internet agency. She is also part of the VJ & DJ collective Freeground as VJ Suki Bamboo.

rap

From 1992 to 2001 ZORA was a member of the hip-hop projects Adrenalin, Wrecked Mob and AOH Family.

Until 2001, ZORA could be heard on three German releases: 1998 on the album Solo by Thomas D. , 1999 on the album Genuine Draft by DJ Thomilla and in 2001 on the compilation Ladies First - A Collection of Female Artists.

In 2002 ZORA released her solo album ZA on the Swiss label Wrecked Records. She rapped there in High German, except for a few hidden bonus tracks that were rapped in dialect . On ZA, ZORA refrained from working with rap colleagues.

In the same year ZORA made a contribution to the album "LP, not complete" by the Hamburg producer ILL Will with the song Strandgut . Zora also contributed the song Keep on to the first all -women compilation of the Swiss hip-hop scene, the Sheheilig tape .
