Zoran Janjetović

Zoran Janjetović (born October 7, 1967 in Zagreb ) is a Serbian historian .

life and work

Janjetović attended a grammar school in Belgrade until 1986 . From 1987 to 1993 he studied at the Faculty of Philosophy and History of the University of Belgrade , where he also received his doctorate in 2004. Since 1995 he has been the chief scientist of historical research at the Institut za noviju istoriju Srbije ( German  : Institute for Modern History of Serbia ) in Belgrade. His field of work includes the national minorities in the former Yugoslavia, especially the Yugoslav Germans , diplomacy after the Second World War , and the social history of Serbia and Yugoslavia during and after the Second World War.

Janjetović organized dialogues between Croatian and Serbian historians for the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom , did research abroad for some time, participated in three international history projects and took part in over forty conferences. He speaks German and English and also reads Italian, French, Slovenian and Macedonian.
