Quote

"As a painter, I am often seen as a fantastic realist ( fantastic realism ), but I see myself as a realistic fantasy because I do not present realism ( realism (art) ) in a fantastic way, but represent my fantasy realistically. Pictures as self-related in the sense, that they are decided in the ego, to push outwards with the stamp of the zeitgeist. Regardless of whether I immerse myself in my spiritual world or devote my thoughts to consumer society, I paint what moves me right now. My motifs, colors, light, shadow, none of this I look for in art history or in current trends, I find it in my inner world.

I make room for mixed feelings and not so clear thoughts in my dark backgrounds, where they hide and rest. For the general figures who don't have a clear face or to whom I don't want to give a face, I look for a representative in the world of animals and plants. These are not studies of nature, they are beings that have symbolic power in them. I leave enough space for the viewer to incorporate their own spectrum of thoughts into my pictures. Questions that are looking for an answer remain open. A free space to consider what has happened before and what is still to come.

My pictures are limited by a frame, but the motifs change, they pour out and they fly in, open and free. The frame is only part of the picture, a spatial separation, distance, from and to the wall, not a prison. Whether a Lucifer comes after a scapegoat , or the "Jugokoffer" ( plastic bag ) belongs to a true Yugo (term for citizens of the former Yugoslavia (is sometimes perceived as derogatory), a modern witch drives around in an Aston Martin , Mercedes or Jaguar, or whether a painter creates your picture between an iron and a mixer, I am ready with a brush in my hand.
