Zouk (club)

The Zouk is an internationally oriented house and techno club in Singapore . The club was voted # 5 in the Top 100 Clubs 2012 by readers of UK DJ Magazine .

The 3,000-person club opened in 1991 in a warehouse near the Singapore River . The main hall was gradually expanded to include new areas.

  • Zouk : The main hall with a DJ stage offers space for around 1500 people (music: techno , electro )
  • Velvet Underground : quieter and more exclusive lounge area (music: house )
  • Phuture : Bar (Music: Hip-Hop , Broken Beats )

One of Singapore's most successful nightlife events is Wednesday in the Zouk called Mambo Jambo . Stylistically, house and dance are mixed with pop music .

The electronics festival ZoukOut has been held annually on the island of Sentosa near Siloso Beach since 2000 . Up to 25,000 people are expected here for performances by world-famous DJs.

Another Zouk Club has existed in Kuala Lumpur , Malaysia since 2004 .
