To all the saints in Detmold-Berlebeck / Heiligenkirchen

For all saints there was a Roman Catholic parish church between the Detmold districts of Berlebeck and Heiligenkirchen . It was a branch church of Heilig Kreuz in the Detmold Pastoral Association of the Bielefeld-Lippe Dean 's Office in the Archdiocese of Paderborn .

history

The church was built between 1966 and 1967 according to plans by Joachim-G. Hanke on the edge of the residential area of Berlebeck and Heiligenkirchen at that time. The consecration took place on May 19, 1968. A few months later, the parish hall, which was later rented to families and is now home to an outdoor living group of the St. Elisabeth Foundation, was completed. After the last service took place in the church in 2016, it was canceled in 2019.

architecture

The church building had an irregular floor plan and was covered by two pent roofs. The higher one spanned the service room, the lower one the entrance area, the sacristy and a corridor. A roof turret on the wall marked the highest point of the building. The roof turret and the surrounding eaves were clad in matt silver zinc sheets.

Inside, the walls were white; the ceiling that fell towards the altar was boarded with wood. The sanctuary was raised one step and, like the rest of the room, had a gray floor.

Furnishing

The liturgical furnishings came from the sculptor Josef Rikus . Hubert Spierling created the large-scale glazing.
