Load
The load was a volume measure common in the Rhineland for the wine trade, which was officially still in effect in the Grand Duchy of Hesse .
It was a so-called wine measure, but could also be used for brandy and vinegar . It was one of the measures known as old measure. The load was derived from the piece or barrel of wine.
- 1 load = ½ piece / barrels of wine .
- 1 piece of wine = 8 ohms (Frankfurter) = 7230.7 Parisian cubic inches
The piece was dependent on the type of wine and
- for white wine 1 barrel = 7.5 ohms and
- for red wine = 8 ohms,
so that the load red wine = 4 ohms. A distinction was made between local and foreign wines, such as Rhine wine , Malaga wine and Muscat wine .
For orientation
- 1 load of wine = 6 ohms
