Zuleykha Seyidmammadova
Zuleykha Seyidmammadova ( Azerbaijani Züleyxa Seyidməmmədova ; born March 22, 1919 in Baku ; † 1999 ibid) was one of the first female military pilots from Azerbaijan during the Second World War with Leyla Mammadbeyova .
Seyidmammadova was born in Baku on March 22, 1919. She obtained her pilot's license in 1935 at the Baku Aeroclub and later at a flight school in Zhukovsky near Moscow. During the Second World War she flew as a fighter pilot in one of the three squadrons founded by Marina Raskova with female pilots. With the Yak-9 she flown , she had over 500 missions and was involved in 40 aerial battles.
She died in Baku in 1999.
