The restaurant Zum Lahmen Esel in Frankfurt-Niederursel is a traditional Frankfurt restaurant and an apple wine bar with a beer garden . The building is a listed building .

The house is located on a branch of the Urselbach , opposite the Niederursel stop on the Frankfurt U3, U8 and U9 subway lines . The building of the inn at Krautgartenweg 1 is a baroque half-timbered house from the 18th century behind an ornamental facade . The property has been used as an inn since 1807. In 1993 a comprehensive renovation took place. Indoor and outdoor catering offer space for a total of 400 people. An extension to the Zum Lahmen Esel restaurant has served as the headquarters of the Frankfurt Agricultural Association since 1994 .
Awards
- In 2004 the restaurant received the Gastro Award Hessen as the best apple wine bar.
- In 2010 the Lame Esel received the award for the best pub in Germany.
