The Gasthof Zum Palmbaum is a listed building in the city of Merseburg in Saxony-Anhalt .

The building is located in the center of Merseburg on the south side of Obere Burgstraße at the address Obere Burgstraße 7 .
Architecture and history
Today's three-story Gasthof Zum Palmbaum may have emerged from an important medieval courtyard. In 1691, the courtyard was extensively renovated and the house was extended, including older buildings. At the same time, the Gasthof Zum Palmbaum was first mentioned in a document. There are parts of the building dating back to the Renaissance , such as the walls of some windows and doors and a column as a preserved remnant of an old passage. In addition, elements of the Baroque have been preserved, such as window and door frames and the roof structure . Above the entrance there is a house sign with the year 1694. The building is covered with a mansard roof .
On the courtyard side, the property had a small wing from the 18th century with an added gallery (as of 2000).
In the local register of monuments , the inn is listed as a historical building under registration number 094 20271 .
