Zupus is the lava-filled remnant of a moon crater . It is located on a southwestern branch of the Oceanus Procellarum , northwest of the Mare Humorum . A system of weakly pronounced grooves called Rimae Zupus join in the northwest.
Little has been preserved of the original appearance and the rim of the crater is low and irregular, giving the impression of a valley rather than a crater. The eastern edge is interrupted by the Zupus S crater . The material that covers the bottom of the crater has a darker hue than the surrounding area, so that the structure is relatively easy to localize by an observer.
