Zurdok is the current name of a Mexican rock band from Monterrey . The group was founded in 1993 as Zurdok Movimiento (Zurdok Movement) . At the turn of the millennium, Zurdok was one of the most influential music groups in the country; In 1999, however, one of the two singers left the band and in 2002 there was a temporary separation of the musicians. In 2006 there was a short reunion, but now the band seems to have finally broken up.

The band's sound alternates between alternative rock , rock latino and heavy metal . The lyrics are in Spanish and are often melancholy.

Band history

The founding date of the group is July 15, 1993. After the group initially only wanted to make music and did not hold any concerts, they made their debut on May 13, 1994 in Monterrey. The following year, Zurdok Movimiento was the first band outside of Mexico City to win the Battle Of The Bands contest .

In 1997 the first album (Antena) was released; Tropecé became the first single. With the recording of the album Hombre Sintetizador in 1998, "Movimiento" disappeared from the band name. The last studio album was Maquillaje in 2000 . Due to "artistic differences" and the expiry of their record contract, Zurdok came to an end for the time being in 2002.

Chetes and Terracina reappeared in 2005 with the band Vaquero , and in 2006 Chetes presented a solo album. The other members met a few more times in 2006 to perform together at festivals. David Izquierdo plays with the band Dalai today.
