Twelve Morning Valley

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Zwölfmorgental (until 1900: Zwölfmorgenthal ) is a mountain cut in the Harz Mountains , southwest of Wernigerode . The valley extends west of the Harburg and flows into the Zillierbachtal in Nöschenrode . Due to the short length of the valley floor, there is only a small trickle as flowing water, especially since in the upper valley floor a water container used to be used to catch the water.

The slopes of the upper Twelve Morning Valley are used for winter sports activities by the Wernigerode ski club, and there is also a ski lift that offers a 400 m descent as a pommel lift.

In the middle of the valley are the Zwölfmorgentalschanzen with the Schanzenhaus. Up to this point it is also possible to drive through the valley by motor vehicle. The lower twelve morning valley is almost completely built up.
