The Zwarte Meer is an inland lake in the Netherlands . Its main tributary is the Zwarte Water , which reaches the lake at the eastern end and which is mainly fed by the Vechte . In the west, the lake is directly connected to the Ketelmeer , into which the IJssel flows. In the south of the Zwarten Sea is Kampen with the Kamper Eiland and the municipality of Zwartewaterland with Genemuiden and Hasselt in the province of Overijssel.
Zwarte Meer can on Dutch for black sea (or Black Lake) are. However, the word "zwart" in the name Zwarte Meer probably has nothing to do with the color zwart = "black", but rather with "zwet" , which means "limit", also in the form "zwette".
