The second law for the protection of the population in the event of an epidemic situation of national scope of May 19, 2020 is an article law that was enacted in Germany on the occasion of the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic caused by the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 . In terms of content, it ties in with the law on the protection of the population in the event of an epidemic situation of national scope of March 27, 2020. With its Article 1, the Medical Device Law Implementation Act was passed.

- License to practice medicine for dentists
- Transplant Act
- Psychotherapists Act
In addition, the law passed the ordinance on the extension of the reporting obligation pursuant to Section 6 (1) sentence 1 number 1 and Section 7 (1) sentence 1 of the Infection Protection Act to include infections with the novel coronavirus (“2019-nCoV ") Expire on May 23, 2020 because the reporting obligation for the coronavirus disease-2019 is now through § 6 para. 1 No. 1 lit. t of the Infection Protection Act is regulated.
On April 29, 2020, the Federal Cabinet decided on drafting aid for a draft law. On May 14, 2020, the Bundestag adopted a largely corresponding bill by the coalition groups, including changes by the health committee. On May 15, 2020, the Federal Council approved. It was announced in the Federal Law Gazette on May 22, 2020 ( BGBl. I p. 1018 ).
