Between the streams is a street in the Braunschweig district of Riddagshausen between Wabe and Alter Mittelriede . Historic half-timbered farmhouses were rebuilt on it in the 1970s on a private initiative, some of which were moved from the Braunschweig region to Riddagshausen. This ensemble of half-timbered houses is also called a farmhouse settlement.

history

The “Riddagshausen Citizenship with Friends Association e. V. “campaigned for the beautification of the townscape and the preservation of old buildings. In the 1970s, the idea arose to beautify Riddagshausen by rebuilding old half-timbered houses. Under the management of the entrepreneur Richard Borek senior and later Henning Borek, several old farmhouses were moved from the area to Riddagshausen by the citizens until 1980. The partially dilapidated buildings were to be preserved, were expertly dismantled and mostly rebuilt true to the original around the street between the streams.

In addition, a post mill from Remlingen was built on the Lünischhöhe to the southwest of the road between the streams. It was inaugurated in September 1979 and named after the last Brunswick Duchess Victoria Luise. The maintenance of this mill also took over the citizenship.
